All of his decorations were found or made from his natural surroundings!

You can make corn husk dolls with your child this November too! Ask a corn farmer near you for some husks or find some at a Latin grocery store. Online stores sell them but a field trip to a farm in the country is a fun thing to do with your children!

All you need are a few materials to get started: scissors, string, a deep pan of warm water and corn husks of course! You can find great directions on youtube! Just google it 😁⛄!

I made lots of them in all sizes and will take them to classrooms with me. With a click and a swipe I found out that the corn husk doll was created by the Oneida and Iroquois people of Eastern Canada and the USA. Pioneers learned how to make the dolls and brought this skill from one coast to the other!

Its important to let children experience and learn about many traditions and this one is perfect for the fall harvest season!
