I’m Lauren and I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a Melbourne girl through & through, born and bred. I live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne with my 2 kids and my fur babies, JJ and Tim Tam. I’ve been with my partner for 10 years and He’s truly an amazing man.

I have travelled to many places around the world but one of my favourite places in the world is Port Douglas. I love the sun, the water and the seafood! I love trying new things but I’m also a creature of habit and my ideal Saturday night is just cuddling up on the couch with my man.

I grew up with my parents, 2 sisters and a brother in the northern suburbs, attended a private girls school for high school. I danced for many years and my favourite subjects at school were art, psychology, literature and history.

I went on to get my degree in Creative Advertising & Marketing and also have qualifications in social media, travel and business management. Back in 2018 though, I needed something different. I had ALWAYS loved parties, I was told by the other mums at school that they weren’t even going to try to get to my level, that their kids always came home saying that my parties were the best.

I decided to take a leap of faith and enrol in a course in Wedding planning, Styling and business through the Wedding Academy. It was the best decision – I loved everything about Weddings and it was a dream come true to work in this industry.

When I started my business years ago, I struggled to find that right name. One that I felt fully resonated with me and in how I approach creativity.

I came across this word when I was scrolling through Pinterest for unique words. I came across this ancient Greek word ‘Meraki’ and it just made sense to me. Meraki means to do something with soul, creativity and loving what you do so much that you leave a bit of yourself in everything you do.

This, in essence is how I approach creating an event. It doesn’t matter whether it is a wedding with 100 guests or a kids birthday party with 10 friends. Each celebration will be shown the same care, love and creativity.

The other aspect of this is that my spirit animal is the Peacock. I love their beauty and uniqueness. Hence why my colours are the colours of the Peacock. And just to further prove to me that this word was perfect is that ‘Merak’ means Peacock in Indonesian. No word other than Meraki felt right to name my business.
