Winter is in the birth pangs of spring,
\nDreams of a new spring are
\nSprouting in a delirious crescendo.
\nThe world is better off materially than a hundred years ago,
\nBut do its inhabitants have more love to give now?
\nMore resonance of life in their bosoms?<\/p>\n
What is progress?
\nIsn\u2019t it better care of body, mind, and Earth?
\nLeaving a better place for our children?<\/p>\n
Spring is in the throes of birth,
\nBut will it change the world
\nTo a place of freedom and decency?<\/p>\n
God endowed human life with a searing potential,
\nIt is our fault if we cannot exploit it,
\nA civilization should be judged by where it takes life.<\/p>\n
Let us learn from flowers how to live,
\nBlossom with all the beauty we have,
\nGive but don\u2019t ask anything in return.<\/p>\n
Oh! Spring can\u2019t humanity curb greed, insecurity, and selfishness,
\nAnd grow flowers of freedom, beauty, and charity,
\nAnd make Mahjoor* smile in heaven?<\/p>\n
