The breeze at the beach swirled in a hypnotic rhythm,
\nThe sky was spotlessly azure,
\nSand was sensuously powdery,
\nIt was thinly populated.<\/p>\n
My beloved was coy and seemed to hide something,
\nBut I did not want an unknown to mar the exuberance of the scene,
\nBut as the hours rolled languorously
\nI got a feeling that something big was afoot.<\/p>\n
Before sun\u2019s gold melted in the tremulous ocean
\nMy beloved declared that she was breaking off from me,
\nSmashing my stellar dreams,
\nDraining off my reservoir of tranquility.<\/p>\n
Mornings came and melted in the echo of time,
\nAfternoons froze on the horizon,
\nEvenings echoed dolefully in the stillness,
\nNights fluttered aimlessly in their blackness.<\/p>\n
Poor heart was laid a siege more impregnable
\nThan the core of the earth,
\nIt was confronted by an army of sadness
\nMore single-minded than the My Lai massacre brigade.<\/p>\n
When a heart is attacked
\nIt focuses its attention on infinite \u2013
\nAway from the things that attacked it,
\nIt sees that nature has a vast reservoir of compassion
\nFor the heartbroken.<\/p>\n
Look at the stillness of a lake and feel its balm,
\nLook at a mountain and absorb its silent strength,
\nLook at trees and see their elegant gracefulness,
\nLook at animals and see their ungrudging calmness.<\/p>\n
It is in the meaning of meaning that man not give in or give up,
\nFor he has a tryst with destiny,
\nHe has dreams to dream and promises to keep,
\nThe glow of his heart will shine the earth.<\/p>\n
A heart has its own reasons to defy adversity,
\nIt is an immaculate piece of human personality:
\nResonant, courageous, and persistent,
\nIt is the mirror of soul, an enactor of mind.<\/p>\n
