{"id":1172,"date":"2014-10-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-10-22T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stagingserver3.com\/Maharaj\/alas-the-world-has-not-read-my-poems\/"},"modified":"2014-10-22T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2014-10-22T00:00:00","slug":"alas-the-world-has-not-read-my-poems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stagingserver3.com\/Maharaj\/alas-the-world-has-not-read-my-poems\/","title":{"rendered":"Alas, The World Has Not Read My Poems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wake up at nights by the thought<br \/>\nThat no one has read my poems,<br \/>\nI console myself that they were not written for popularity.<br \/>\nThey have come to me through nature,<br \/>\nI acting merely a scribe.<br \/>\nBut I had to put them over the burning grates of my soul,<br \/>\nTo make nature\u2019s ideas understandable to the world.<br \/>\nThe chance that posterity may read them is hollow,<br \/>\nAs the great poets of the past lie deep in the furrows of time,<br \/>\nKnown but unread,<br \/>\nWordsworth is a piercing example.<\/p>\n<p>And we live in the age of technology,<br \/>\nWhich shuns poetry as mere jingle of words,<br \/>\nHolding shimmering images and sound bites as greater elixir.<\/p>\n<p>Unread though I must continue to write them,<br \/>\nAs they are my bridges to eternity,<br \/>\nAnd I must continue to tread my lonely path<br \/>\nAnd burn my vision without seeking tributes.<\/p>\n<p>But the poetry of the human soul is immortal,<br \/>\nIt is a necessary bridge between the known and the unknown.<\/p>\n<p>Suffern,<br \/> New York,<br \/> October 21, 2014<br \/>\nwww.kaulscorner.com<br \/>\nmaharaj.kaul@yahoo.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wake up at nights by the thought That no one has read my poems, I console myself that they were not written for popularity.
