Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night,<\/p>\n
Stunned that my work is not done yet,<\/p>\n
Time is ticking,<\/p>\n
And my energy is faltering.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
My life is a long twisted tale<\/p>\n
Whose roots I never found,<\/p>\n
Whose meaning has remained incoherent –<\/p>\n
Only its music I can hear.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
There was my childhood,<\/p>\n
Gush with love for life –<\/p>\n
Its myriad beauties,<\/p>\n
Its scintillating scenarios.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
There were the years that passed<\/p>\n
When I pursued goals \u2013<\/p>\n
Often not eating,<\/p>\n
Usually never sleeping<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I found heart was the flow of life –<\/p>\n
Mind only its guide,<\/p>\n
Heaven its only limit,<\/p>\n
Work the transforming agent.<\/p>\n
But later I discovered heartbreak,<\/p>\n
When everything came to a standstill –<\/p>\n
Including time,<\/p>\n
Eventually everything resumed by itself.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
There are things you feel<\/p>\n
But do not tell the world,<\/p>\n
There are things that you tell the world,<\/p>\n
But do not feel.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But now I do not get fazed by anything:<\/p>\n
My failures, defeats, heartbreaks, and rejections –<\/p>\n
I only want my work done –<\/p>\n
Rest is worldly litter.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Give me one moment with eternity<\/p>\n
For all the glories of the world,<\/p>\n
Let me have a dip back into the purity of childhood –<\/p>\n
Take away fire and wisdom of later years.<\/p>\n
