There is no solace that I can find:<\/p>\n
Sky looks forlorn<\/p>\n
And the air feels stationary –<\/p>\n
Emptiness has pitched a camp<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Maybe sorrow is the reality,<\/p>\n
Joy only a punctuation mark,<\/p>\n
In the long narrative of life<\/p>\n
Illusions are more powerful than the truth.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Running as fast I can,<\/p>\n
Days turn into weeks,<\/p>\n
Weeks into months –<\/p>\n
But what is the race for?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It is true that empty stomach aches,<\/p>\n
But humans have other hungers:<\/p>\n
Search for God, love, beauty,<\/p>\n
And music of the soul.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But today\u2019s soulless world<\/p>\n
Has pushed these sublime strivings aside,<\/p>\n
And substituted materialism –<\/p>\n
The ultimate prize.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I feel a child abandoned in cosmos –<\/p>\n
Orphan of time and space,<\/p>\n
There is no past, there is no future –<\/p>\n
Tyranny of present seems sternal.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The world is the inescapable cage,<\/p>\n
I feel a leaf tossed in economics,<\/p>\n
An unlisted number in society,<\/p>\n
At a train station but destination unknown.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
