\nIt is created to do multitude of things,
\nWith precision , poise, and purpose.<\/p>\n
In some one hundred and fifty pounds of flesh and bone
\nLies mind-boggling complexity,
\nIt is amazing that a union of a sperm and an egg
\nCan create such a marvel.<\/p>\n
In its ninety-three thousand miles of blood vessels,
\nNavigate the packets of fuel to energize it,
\nIts fourteen billion neurons buzz with information,
\nProcessed by an incredible microprocessor,
\nProgrammed on its open architecture,
\nTo make sense of the outer universe,
\nTo shape the inner world.<\/p>\n
Is it all a body or a body and mind that drives us,
\nCenturies of debate has not settled the score in common thought,
\nBut without free-will humans would be robots,
\nBereft of the power of thought available to them.<\/p>\n
The sensations of body tie us down to ground,
\nGiving life its earthy and beyond-mind character;
\nBody\u2019s mystique is nature\u2019s mystique.
\nWith time the body changes,
\nOur corporeal existence,
\nA dagger thrust in the majesty of life.<\/p>\n
A mind dies many a time,
\nBut a body only once,
\nEach body is unique and bears the impress of its mind,
\nWith a body\u2019s death a world comes to close,
