Jolene Chia

Master in Educational and Developmental Psychology (University of Melbourne)

With experience at Student Support Services within the Department of Education and in a primary school, Jolene has skills in cognitive, learning, and neurodiversity assessments. Jolene has provided counselling services, facilitated group programs, and collaborated with leadership staff, teachers, and parents to deliver system-based support for students.

Her work in private practice has further refined her skills in supporting neurodivergent individuals during assessments and counselling sessions. She has experience assisting older Autistic adults in seeking diagnoses, understanding themselves, and managing Autistic burnout.

Jolene utilises a variety of therapeutic approaches, including neuroscience, play therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to tailor her services to each client’s needs. Dedicated to empowering others, Jolene advocates for clients by understanding their strengths while fostering resilience and well-being. She has a keen interest in supporting neurodivergent adolescents and adults and is an LGBTIQA+ friendly psychologist who strives to create a safe space for understanding, exploration, and growth.
