Rachel Jia Wei Ho

Provisional Psychologist

Master/PhD of Educational and Developmental Psychology Candidate

Rachel is a Provisional Psychologist completing her PhD degree in Psychology at Monash University. Her intensive training in autism assessment has enabled her to provide high standard assessment and achieve great clinical outcomes for children.

“My approach lies in understanding clients’ stories and narratives (both from the young clients and their families), to help them understand themselves. I enjoy collaborating with clients in using their strengths to achieve their own goals. I also have a passion for supporting parents and teachers to support their children and students.

I have worked in educational, clinical and community settings, with experience in
conducting psychological assessments and adapting evidence-based strategies to suit the needs of each client. My biggest interest is working with autistic individuals, but I also have experience working with other neurodiverse children (e.g., ADHD), children with learning difficulties/disabilities and children who require socioemotional and behaviour support.

Growing up in multicultural Malaysia means that I understand the importance of accounting for the cultural sensitivities and needs for clients and their families. I speak Mandarin and have a basic understanding of Hokkien and Malay, and hope to be able to use my multilingual abilities to interact with families who prefer to do so in their first language.
