Shannon Pappert is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), nationally recognized Cookbook Author, Harvard Medical School Certified Chef Coach, Rouxbe Certified Professional Plant-Based Cook, eCornell certified in Plant-Based Nutrition, Lifestyle Medicine Coach Certified, Food Educator, Cooking Class Instructor and a Virginia Tech Hokie!<\/p>\n

Her first book Boddler Bites, Food in a Flash, The ABC\u2019s Of Feeding your Boddler (older baby + younger toddler) <\/em>received\u00a0endorsements from Rachael Ray, Parents, Parenting <\/em>and Babytalk<\/em> along with features in The Boston Globe<\/em>, The Chicago Tribune<\/em>, and The Telegraph<\/em>.<\/p>\n

As new parents, we go crazy researching the best crib, stroller, bottles, car seat and highchair; anything to keep our child safe and healthy. Why then, do we fall prey to manufacturers who create food in a factory for our children? One of the most critical aspects of our children\u2019s overall well-being is the food they eat. The food they consume directly affects how they grow, learn and thrive. Why, I ask again, are we okay with feeding our children prepackaged, processed junk? Mass marketers rely on our naivety to accept cheaply made \u201cfood\u201d with cartoon characters or cute baby faces printed on their packaging. And sadly, we\u2019ve accepted this unhealthy \u201ckid-food\u201d category that is creating a generation of obese children. We need to get real about what \u201cfood\u201d goes into our children\u2019s growing bodies. Children can actually love real foods including vegetables.
