About Starr Dog Academy
Nancy has always had a love of dogs, she grew up with miniature poodles. In 1998 Nancy became one of the leaders of the Gloucester County 4-H Kainine Krusaders Dog Club. She was the leader of the club for 5 years. She was also a co-leader of the Gloucester County Forward to the Future Seeing Eye Puppy Raisers Club. She has raised 5 seeing eye puppies. She left both clubs in 2003 when she became the president of the Gloucester County 4-H Fair Association. In 2007 Nancy was asked to become the leader of the 4-H dog club again. The club re-organized and changed the name to Canine Can Do. She retired from 4-H in 2021 after 25 years of volunteering.
In August of 2014 she began training at Joe Nick K9 Training Center in Vineland, NJ. She learned how to train dogs to find bed bugs and how to track missing people. Nancy also became a certified dog trainer and Canine Good Citizen evaluator. In April 2015 Starr Dog Academy opened their doors.
