light-emitting diodes (LEDs)

To treat medical and cosmetic conditions. A Red Light Therapy device sends low-intensity red and near-infrared light deep into the body’s cells in order to promote healing. Red Light Therapy is noninvasive, painless, and does not use heat.

Red Light Therapy works by acting on the “power plant” in your body’s cells called mitochondria. With more energy, other cells can do their work more efficiently, doing things like repairing skin, boosting new cell growth, and enhancing skin rejuvenation. More specifically, certain cells absorb light wavelengths and are stimulated to work

Improvement for skin and hair conditions

  1. Fine lines and wrinkles – A 2020 study in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology found that light emitting diode (LED) phototherapy may be effective when it comes to treating aging skin, with red light therapy showing promise for
positive skin rejuvenation effects by boosting fibroblasts—which make collagen and, in turn, gives skin its structure, strength and elasticity
  2. Acne – has been used to treat acne for years, especially in conjunction with medications and therapies meant to enhance the light absorption
  3. Scarring – the therapy is used to reduce collagen production in scar tissue, improving or preventing thickening scars.
  4. Wound Healing – Difficult-to-heal wounds like diabetic ulcers present a major skin treatment issue. However, Red Light Therapy is showing promise when used for the acceleration of healing. Researchers suggest that it is likely
that the increase in cell mitochondria activity, fibroblast proliferation, and collagen production may contribute to this potentially positive red light therapy effect.
  5. Hair Growth – Red Light Therapy has been shown to reduce the effects of androgenetic alopecia. By decreasing inflammation and increasing blood flow and circulation to the scalp, it has the potential to bring more cell activity (and nutrients) to that area. Recent studies indicate that using red light therapy may promote increased hair thickness and density, but more research is needed.

Relief from chronic disease and pain

  1. Relieves neuropathic pain, numbness, and tingling sensations.
  2. reats chronic pain conditions, such as fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a chronic (longlasting) disorder that causes pain and tenderness throughout the body, as well as fatigue and trouble sleeping.
  3. Helps you manage and overcome the pain and discomfort caused by Sciatica. Red Light Therapy uses wavelengths in the red and infrared spectrum to help promote skin and nerve health. It stimulates regeneration, promotes wound healing, and reduces
oxidant buildup to help heal from the inside out. Even though multiple sessions are required for the full treatment, due to its anti-inflammatory effect, relief may be noticeable after a single session

Weight Loss

  1. Red Light Therapy coupled with a nutrition and exercise program has shown many positive results for fat cell reduction and weight loss
  2. A 2011 study published in the Obesity Surgery journal found that when 40 adults with excess weight were regularly provided Red Light Therapy, they lost nearly an inch of girth over a 4 week period.
  3. A 2015 study of 64 women living with obesity published in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine found that Red Light Therapy could increase fat loss when coupled with exercise
  4. Note that today with the significant improvements to the technology over time, some individuals have lost well over 2.5 inches of girth after one treatment session! However, in order to have sustained weight loss, it is essential that the Red
Light Therapy program is coupled with a nutrition and exercise program.

Accelleration of sports recovery and injury prevention

  1. Light can speed up the respiration process in cells and increase the cell’s energy production.
  2. When you stimulate cellular energy, you stimulate the body’s ability to repair.

Brain health

  1. Research is increasingly demonstrating the benefits of using red light therapy for dementia, stroke, depression, anxiety and other brain conditions.
  2. Red Light Therapy may also help patients with Parkinson’s disease manage their symptoms and sleep/wake cycles.
  3. Due to the minimal risk, many researchers believe that Red Light Therapy for brain disorders will become one of the most important medical applications in the coming years and decades.

Risk Assessment

  1. In general, there really are NO MAJOR SIDE AFFECTS of Red Light Therapy, However:
  2. Individuals who have a condition with photosensitivity, like lupus, or who are on medications that make them photosensitive, shouldn’t use red light therapy.
  3. Individuals who take certain medications that increase their sensitivity to sunlight, such as isotretinoin and lithium should also avoid this type of treatment.
  4. Further, people who have a history of certain conditions, including skin cancer and inherited eye diseases. should also not avoid this treatment as well.

But the great news is that this is a very safe treatment option for the overwhelming majority of the population!
