DINNATIA DOSTER-GREENE, MEMBER

Dinnatia Doster-Greene focuses her practice on all aspects of intellectual property including patent prosecution, patent litigation, patent opinions, design patents, trademark, copyright, trade secret and Internet law.  Her experience includes significant emphasis in electrical and mechanical devices, robotics, medical devices, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, cryptography, blockchain, digital communications fields, wireless communications, data transfer and networking, business methods, and Internet-related and e-commerce inventions.

Having both a Master of Science Degree in electrical engineering and a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering, she has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications, rendered opinions concerning the infringement, validity and enforceability of patents, and provided client counseling regarding a wide variety of complex technologies.

Ms. Doster-Greene has also served as a patent examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Her approach is to attempt and interview each and every case with the respective Patent Examiner or Examining Trademark Attorney which has proven to achieve the most efficient results toward an issued patent or trademark registration.

While working in the government, academic and private-legal sectors, Dinnatia has gained valuable experience conducting complex patent prosecution, including interferences, reexaminations and issues; handling patent enforcement issues, such as licensing and litigation support; negotiating and drafting high tech agreements; handling patent and data rights matters relating to government contracts.

Ms. Doster-Greene has served as an adjunct faculty member for the University of Maryland University College where she taught courses in Law and Technology Management; Government Contracts; and Business Law.  In her law and technology management course, she lectured on such topics as the development, acquisition and use of intellectual property in a business environment.

Before practicing law, Ms. Doster-Greene served as an associate engineer for Duke Power Company’s Catawba Nuclear Station.  Prior to that, she held several internship positions at technology companies, including the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, General Motors and Hewlett-Packard.

Ms. Doster-Greene has gained experience managing patent portfolios for over 25 years in private practice and as a patent attorney at several prestigious law firms in the Washington DC area.
