Juice @1340

Type: Digital Marketing

Juice@1340 owners Derrick Westbrook, Danielle Lewis, and Tim Williams take an inclusive approach with wine and spirits. A wine shop and bar in the West Loop run by Westbrook — a star sommelier who’s worked at lauded restaurants namely Elizabeth and Next. Williams has worked with Pour Souls, a consultancy which throws pop-ups to show customers how to mix proper drinks. Lewis has worked for BokaRestaurant Group at restaurants like GT Fish & Oyster and GT Prime, overseeing cocktail programs for several of their James Beard Award-winning venues.

Westbrook says, “That’s what makes us dangerous in the field. We have three people who have been in this business for a long period of time, who are at the top of their games.”

The Challenge

Design engaging Instagram posts to promote Juice’s weekly, bi-weekly and pop-up events. The challenge was to design posts with some consistency within existing eclectic posts. Plan and track campaigns and collaborate on creative assets.

The Outcome

By using modern typefaces, clean typography and color, I created design templates for three regular events at Juice, Community Tastings every Tuesday, Wine + Music every Thursday and Soulful Saturdays, a weekly event. Juice wound up gaining brand recognition and followers online, which increased attendance at their events.

Kribi Coffee’s mission is about building a local community that values hard work, innovation and fair trade. Redesigning three blended coffee bags, Happy Face, Love is Love, and Mt Oku. I chose the water buffalo for the Happy Face coffee bag to represent the feel good quality of the coffee. The water buffalo is a symbol of strength, tenacity with a powerful presence. The heart, love, to emphasize that all forms of love are valid and to be treated equally. Mt Oku is the largest volcano in Cameroon, it too has a powerful pesence as a symbol of strength, tenacity and resilience.
